WorkValues is a platform that matches candidates with jobs and organizations that fit their needs and preferences. Handling personal user information lies at the core of our efforts and we take the commitment of doing this in a fair and secure manner.

This privacy policy describes the way we collect and use your information, your rights with regards to the data we store about you and the measures we take in protecting your personal data. By choosing to use our services, you comply with the provisions of this Privacy Policy.

The WorkValues platform strictly adheres to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), EU law 2016/679. You can find out more about your rights, the data we collect, how we process data, our usage of cookies and other data protection information in the sections below.

Data we collect

Data you directly share with us

We collect the data that you submit through registration forms, such as the newsletter subscription form or the sign-up form.

You can use the basic search functionality on the WorkValues platform without registering an account and we only temporarily store your session identifier. If you choose to create a profile and provide us with information about your professional background and job preferences, we’ll store and process this information in order to provide you with tailored job or candidate matches based on your preferences.

The information that we may store through your profile can include, but is not limited to, skills, learning interests, previous employers, education, personal summary, profile picture etc. You will have the possibility to choose which information you want to share or not, the only mandatory information for creating an account being your name and email address.

Data provided through third-party systems

You may choose to login with third-party platforms such as LinkedIn or Facebook, in which case we’ll automatically receive some basic information to set up or access your account. We only collect this information based on your consent and it’s your responsibility to verify that you agree with the data that gets transferred.

Your communication

As part of the platform’s functionality, we allow recruiters and candidates to communicate through messages and we keep records of these interactions. You can choose to terminate the communication with a specific user at any time and stop receiving further messages from them.

Usage of our system

We record usage patterns of our platform in order to provide a customized user experience, such as the time you spend with us during a session, the type of browser you use or the types of companies/candidates you engage with. This enables us to deliver our content in a format that is optimal for the device you’re visiting us from and develop analytics that will improve our services towards you.

Devices and location

When you access our services, we get information about your operating system, IP address, web browser and device (laptop, mobile, tablet). We’ll also collect location data whenever it’s available and you choose to share it with us.

We use cookies to record your preferences and provide you with personalized content, as well as to enable a secure authentication every time you return to our website. While we recommend you allow cookies in order to have an optimal user experience, if you prefer disabling them, it is possible to do so from your browser’s settings.

What we use your data for

Access to the platform

While there is a part of the WorkValues platform that all visitors can access, most features require you to sign up for an account. We use your email and password in order to identify you and give you access to our services.

The core functionality of our service lies in providing recruiters and candidates with recommendations that optimize their hiring efforts. This requires our algorithms to be able to map your personal preferences and make recommendations based on their interpretation.

Keeping you informed

We use your data to send important communication to you such as updates about the use of our services or job/candidate recommendations. Moreover, we send direct emails or messages for marketing purposes – promotions, introducing new features etc. If at any time you find the information we send to be irrelevant, you can always opt out from all non-essential communication. You cannot, however, opt out of system emails or legal notices.

Product development

We use service usage analytics in order to further develop the functionalities of the WorkValues platform and provide you with a better experience.

Your rights

Access to your information

You have access through the platform at all the information you provided to us and have the possibility to modify or delete it at any time. If you need to access all the logs we have about you, please contacts us at info [at] .

Deleting your account

You have the option to close your account. If you choose to do so, your profile will stop being visible to others within 30 days (90 days for recruiters/employers). Any conversations that you have with other users on the platform will stop being visible to them in the same interval of time. Some users might still be able to see this information for a while longer as it might be stored in their cache, and we cannot prevent that from happening.

The right to be forgotten

Within the 30 days (or 90 days for recruiters/employers) after the request to delete your account, we’ll continue to retain your personal information and we’ll be able to fully restore it in case you closed the account by mistake. However, after this period of time all your data will be deleted from our servers.

Data portability

If you need to move your data from our system to another, you have the right to request a full copy of your personal information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable form. Please contact us at info [at] in order to place a request.

The right to object

You have the right to object to our processing of your data for direct marketing purposes, profiling, research and statistics purposes and the performance of tasks for public interest/exercise of official authority.

At any time, you can opt out of our emails for marketing purposes directly from your account settings, however, for all the other cases, we’ll have to kindly ask you to close your account, which will effectively stop us from accessing and processing to your data.

Profiling and automated decision-making

In order to decrease the chances of an automated system restricting people’s access to opportunity, the most important part of the matching algorithm is based on filters that can be manually adjusted by users. Machine learning algorithms are only used to complement your explicit preferences.

You can always choose to view all candidates or all jobs on WorkValues.

Data protection

Our systems are regularly monitored for possible vulnerabilities and attacks, and we use the latest protocols in order to secure your data. The connection used to communicate between WorkValues and you is encrypted via Secure-Socket-Layer (HTTPS) and private entity data access is prevented for unauthorized users (e.g. people who are not members of your company cannot see your job drafts).

We also use cookies in order to correctly identify you after login, and try to prevent unauthorized access of your account by activating a lockout after a limited number of failed login attempts.

Data storage

WorkValues is fully run on Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure, across data centers in the Netherlands and Ireland. Microsoft Azure meets a broad set of international and industry-specific compliance standards, such as General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ISO 27001, HIPAA, FedRAMP, SOC 1 and SOC 2, as well as country-specific standards, including Australia IRAP, UK G-Cloud, and Singapore MTCS. Rigorous third-party audits, such as those done by the British Standards Institute, verify Azure’s adherence to the strict security controls these standards mandate.

Breach notification

Despite of our best efforts, we cannot, however, guarantee that your data might not be illegally accessed and processed. In the unfortunate case of a breach, we’ll notify you as soon as possible and at the latest within 72 hours in order to take protective action.

We take all precautions to store and process your data in a secure manner, and we don’t share it with third parties without your explicit consent.

Policy changes

We might make changes to this privacy policy for a number of reasons, such as complying with the latest regulatory requirements or making it relevant to the stage of development of our services. You will be informed by any such modifications before they enter into force. If we don’t hear any explicit objection from you, we’ll consider you have agreed with the new conditions.
